You will have a responsibility that plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting young individuals as they navigate challenges and opportunities. Youth mentors significantly impact the personal and professional development of young people, helping them reach their full potential.
Requirements
Key responsibilities:
Building Relationships: Establishing trust and rapport with mentees to create a safe and supportive environment.
Providing Guidance: Offering advice and support on personal, academic, and career-related issues.
Listening Actively: Encouraging open communication and actively listening to the mentee's concerns and aspirations.
Setting Goals: Assisting mentees in setting and achieving personal and academic goals.
Encouraging Skills Development: Helping mentees develop essential life skills, such as problem-solving, decision-making, and communication.
Modeling Positive Behavior: Demonstrating positive values, behaviors, and attitudes that mentees can emulate.
Facilitating Resources: Connecting mentees with resources, opportunities, and networks that can aid their growth.
Monitoring Progress: Regularly assessing and discussing the mentee's progress toward their goals.
Providing Support: Offering emotional support and encouragement, especially during challenging times.
Promoting Independence: Encouraging self-reliance and decision-making skills to prepare mentees for future challenges.
Working alongside all other departments and programs, enabling improvement for the mentee's.
