About the Role

As the Fundraising coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising efforts and financial operations within the organisation. This includes developing and implementing fundraising strategies, playing a pivotal role in securing financial support for an organisation, typically through a combination of grants, partnerships, donations, and other funding opportunities. This role requires strategic planning, relationship-building, and deep knowledge of fundraising and grant application processes to ensure that the organisation has the financial resources to achieve its mission.

Requirements

1.Funding Strategy and Planning

  • Goal Setting: Establish annual funding goals in line with the organisation’s financial needs and strategic objectives.

  • Funding Pipeline Development: Identify potential funding sources and opportunities, such as government grants, private foundations, corporate sponsorships, and individual donors.

  • Budget Planning: Collaborate with the finance team to develop a budget that aligns funding goals with programmatic and operational needs.

  • Trend Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends, funding landscapes, and competitor activities to adjust strategies and tap into emerging funding opportunities.


    2. Grant Writing and Proposal Development

  • Proposal Creation: Write and submit compelling grant proposals and funding applications that clearly outline the organisation’s mission, project objectives, and impact.

  • Research Funding Opportunities: Continuously research new grants and funding sources aligned with the organisation’s mission and program goals.

  • Reporting: Prepare required reports on the use of funds and project outcomes, ensuring compliance with grant and funding requirements.


    3. Relationship Management and Networking

  • Donor Cultivation: Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential funders, including grant-makers, corporate partners, and major donors.

  • Networking: Attend industry conferences, fundraising events, and networking functions to establish connections with potential funders and stay connected with current ones.

  • Communication: Regularly update funders on the organisation’s progress, success stories, and impact to foster long-term relationships.


    4. Fundraising Campaigns and Events

    Campaign Planning: Design and execute fundraising campaigns tailored to the organisation’s target donor base, whether digital crowdfunding, direct mail, or event-driven.

  • Event Management: Plan and oversee fundraising events, such as galas, charity runs, or online fundraisers, that both raise funds and engage supporters.

  • Donor Engagement: Develop materials and messaging that resonate with different donor groups, such as corporate partners, individual philanthropists, or grassroots supporters.


    5. Donor and Fund Management

  • Database Management: Use donor management software to track donor information, manage relationships, and streamline communication.

  • Recognition Programs: Implement donor recognition initiatives to acknowledge contributions and maintain strong donor retention.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that all funds are used in accordance with donor or grantor requirements, providing transparency and accountability.
