About the Role

You will be someone who plans, organises, and oversees activities related to sports, fitness, and overall well-being. Their job is to create and manage programs that help people stay active, healthy, and feel good. They might organise sports events, fitness classes, or wellness workshops, and make sure everything runs smoothly, from scheduling to ensuring participants are having a good experience. Essentially, they are in charge of making sure that sports and wellness activities are well-organised and beneficial to those involved.

Requirements

Key responsibilities:

1. Program Development & Planning

  • Fitness and Wellness Programs: Design and implement a variety of programs focused on physical activity, nutrition, mental health, and overall wellness. These could include group fitness classes, personal training, wellness workshops, and outdoor activities.

  • Sports Leagues & Events: Organise recreational sports leagues, tournaments, and wellness events that encourage friendly competition and teamwork. This might include everything from intramural sports to community fitness challenges or themed wellness weeks.

  • Specialised Programs: Develop programs catering to specific groups, such as youth fitness camps, senior wellness classes, or corporate wellness programs for employee engagement.

  • Seasonal Activities: Coordinate seasonal or holiday-themed events that bring the community together while promoting physical activity (e.g., summer sports leagues, winter fitness challenges, or outdoor hikes).


    2. Participant Engagement & Support

  • Participant Outreach: Actively encourage participation through social media, email newsletters, and in-person events. Generate excitement by sharing program benefits and success stories.

  • One-on-One Support: Offer guidance and support to participants, addressing their unique wellness goals, answering questions, and helping with program adjustments as needed.

  • Community Building: Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome and motivated, regardless of fitness level or experience.


    3. Facility & Equipment Management

  • Facilities Oversight: Ensure that sports and fitness facilities (like gyms, fields, and studios) are safe, well-maintained, and fully equipped for all programs.

  • Equipment Inventory & Budgeting: Manage inventory and oversee the purchasing or repair of equipment to ensure availability and functionality. Budgeting may also include planning for future equipment needs or facility upgrades.

  • Safety Protocols: Implement and regularly review safety protocols, and conduct routine inspections to ensure all equipment meets safety standards.


    4. Wellness Education & Support

  • Health Workshops: Organise workshops or seminars on topics like nutrition, mental health, injury prevention, and stress management, often in collaboration with health and wellness experts.

  • Personal Development: Provide educational resources and materials (like newsletters or webinars) that promote healthy habits and inform participants about new wellness trends and practices.

  • Mental Health Support: Integrate mental well-being into wellness programs through activities like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness workshops.


    5. Administration & Reporting

  • Program Evaluation: Collect feedback and data on program participation, effectiveness, and satisfaction. This might involve surveys, participant interviews, or program metrics.

  • Budget Management: Monitor program budgets, tracking expenses related to equipment, facilities, and events. Make cost-effective decisions to keep programs sustainable.

  • Partnerships: Build relationships with local businesses, wellness experts, and community organisations to enrich programs and provide diverse wellness options.
